We Are Waiting for You

Hi there!

I am Laura, the recruiter for this position. Nice to meet you!

First, a little bit about what I like the most about working at ServiZurich: The environment here is incredibly collaborative and innovative. Our tech-driven mindset fosters continuous learning and growth, creating an atmosphere where everyone can thrive.  Now, I can't wait to share this exciting journey with you at the Zurich!

Let me take a wild guess: you’ve probably sifted through countless job offers today, and they all seem to blur together. Sound familiar? Well, here’s the scoop: At Zurich, we might not have all the answers (and we’re not striving for perfection!), but we’ve got something special. Curious? Keep reading!

First off, THANK YOU for considering our company. We understand that finding the right opportunity can be tough, but I’ll try to make it easier.

Who Are We?

Let me introduce us. You’re reading about Zurich Insurance Group, a global leader in insurance, but this role specifically pertains to ServiZurich. Established in Barcelona in 2006, ServiZurich operates as an integral part of Zurich Insurance Group, providing cutting-edge technological solutions and support to Zurich's local and global business units.

In addition to our technological solutions, we excel in investment, administration, and accounting, ensuring comprehensive support for Zurich's diverse operations.

What Can You Expect?

The primary purpose of this role is to modernise and automate business processes across IAA — reducing manual effort, improving consistency, and enabling teams to focus on higher-value work. Reporting to the Capability Manager for Process Digitalisation, the role combines business understanding with hands-on engineering to deliver automation solutions that are practical, scalable, and governed. As part of IAA’s capability management approach, a key dimension of this role is the enablement of other engineers and Process Digitalisation Service — building their skills, sharing reusable patterns, and raising the overall automation maturity across the organisation.

And you might be thinking: This is great, what will my day-to-day be like, at Zurich? I’m glad you asked.

As a Process Automation & Digitisation Engineer you will have the opportunity to:

Process Automation & Solution Delivery

  • Designing, building, and deploying automation solutions using workflow orchestration tools, low-code platforms (Power Platform, Copilot Studio), scripting (Python), and AI-assisted tooling (e.g. Claude Code, LLM integrations)
  • Translating business process requirements into working technical solutions through collaboration with SMEs and process designers
  • Developing reusable patterns, building blocks, and reference architectures for automation across IAA
  • Ensuring solutions are production-ready: tested, monitored, documented, and maintainable

Digitisation & Enablement

  • Building and maintaining the scaffolding (templates, configuration, knowledge structures) that enables IAA teams to adopt automation tools safely and at scale
  • Creating enablement materials, onboarding paths, and usage patterns that allow non-engineers to leverage automation and low-code tools within governed boundaries
  • Operating as the technical interface between IAA business teams and the digitisation capability, reducing dependency on central IT for standard automation needs

Governance & Quality

  • Ensuring all automation solutions meet IAA’s governance standards and comply with Group Technology & Operations requirements
  • Embedding auditability, documentation, and appropriate human-in-the-loop controls into solution designs by default
  • Maintaining compliance with responsible AI principles where AI-based components are used
  • Ensuring solutions are maintainable, version-controlled, and handover-ready

Transformation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Working within projects and cross-functional initiatives to identify, prioritise, and deliver automation and digitisation use cases across IAA capabilities
  • Training IAA staff on automation tools and self-service approaches
  • Driving awareness and adoption of digitisation opportunities with business stakeholders alongside the Capability Manager
  • Contributing to IAA’s strategic digitisation roadmap by surfacing opportunities, feasibility assessments, and lessons learned from delivery
  • Collaborating with GTO and other functions to align on standards and reuse enterprise capabilities
  • Work alongside experts in various technological domains.
  • Enhance your skills with real-world experience
  • Contribute to a team that values your input and creativity

What Makes You a Great Fit?

While we’re not seeking perfection or expecting you to save the world, we believe that if you meet some of these requirements, you’ll be a fantastic fit for our team. We are waiting for you!

Cross-functional

  • Process analysis and automation design — ability to assess workflows and identify digitisation opportunities
  • Technical Architecture and Solutioning - Ability to design and implement scalable technical architectures across automation, low-code, AI, and integration platforms. Skilled in defining solution components, data flows, APIs/connectors, security controls, deployment patterns, and reusable technical building blocks that ensure solutions are maintainable, extensible, and enterprise-ready.
  • Hands-on engineering/harness engineering with automation and low-code platforms (Power Platform, Copilot Studio, workflow orchestration tools) and AI-based tools (Claude Code, LLM integrations)
  • Software engineering fundamentals (Python, version control, CI/CD, configuration-as-code)
  • Ability to translate business process descriptions into technical solution designs without requiring deep domain expertise
  • Stakeholder engagement — communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences, building trust
  • Governance-aware development — embedding controls, auditability, and quality standards into delivery
  • Project-based working — comfortable operating in transformation programmes alongside BAU
  • Organisational agility — navigating a large, regulated enterprise environment
  • Innovative thinking — identifying where automation and digitisation create genuine value vs. automation theatre
  • Dealing with ambiguity — comfort with experimentation and iterative approaches in evolving fields
  • Building networks — connecting across capabilities, regions, and functions to scale adoption

And… What Makes Us Special?

As well as a competitive salary and a yearly bonus, we offer:

  • To support your work-life balance, we have adopted a flexible working model.
